The fort
Hillfort
A personal, non-custodial vault for Stock Tokens and USDG, built on Robinhood Chain, where nothing leaves quickly. Also the name of the protocol and of this site. See the Overview.
Vault
The smart contract that holds your tokens. One vault per owner wallet. Tokens go in instantly and come out only through a delayed withdrawal. See The vault.
Delay
The waiting time between requesting a withdrawal and being able to execute it. 24h by default, adjustable from 6h to 7 days. Lengthening it is immediate; shortening it waits for the current delay. See The delay.
Pending withdrawal
A withdrawal that has been requested and whose delay has not yet ended. It is visible on-chain and can be cancelled by the owner wallet or the backup wallet.
Silence clause
An optional rule that lets the backup wallet claim the vault after 12 months without any owner action, following a public notice period. Covers lost keys and inheritance. See The silence clause.
Notice period
The 30 days between the start of a silence claim and the moment the backup wallet can finalize it. Any owner action during the notice period cancels the claim.
Roles
Owner wallet
The wallet that created the vault and controls it: deposits, withdrawal requests, settings. Nobody else can act as the owner.
Backup wallet
A second wallet, chosen when the vault is created. It can cancel any pending withdrawal, rescue the vault to itself while a withdrawal is pending, and, if the silence clause is on, claim the vault after a long silence. It should be a separate cold wallet, never on the same seed phrase as the owner. See The backup wallet.
Non-custodial
Nobody but you holds your keys, and no company can move your assets. Hillfort is non-custodial: only the owner wallet and the backup wallet can act on a vault.
Actions
Cancel
Stop a pending withdrawal. Either the owner wallet or the backup wallet can do it, at any time during the delay. Free and immediate. See Cancelling.
Rescue
Move everything in the vault to the backup wallet in one step. Only the backup wallet can do it, and only while a withdrawal is pending. Free. The emergency exit when the owner key is compromised.
Staking
Locking $HILT in the protocol. Wallets that stake pay no withdrawal fee and receive a share of the fees collected. Details will be published at launch. See $HILT.
Buy and burn
Using part of the fees to buy $HILT on the open market and destroy it permanently, reducing the supply. 50% of every fee is used this way. See Fees.
Treasury
The protocol's own funds, used for development, audits and operations. 20% of every fee goes to the treasury.
Assets and chain
Stock Token
A token on Robinhood Chain that tracks the price of a stock. The vault holds Stock Tokens like any other ERC-20. The issuer, not Hillfort, controls the token itself and can pause or freeze it. See Preview vs mainnet for the verified addresses.
USDG
Global Dollar, a US dollar stablecoin issued by Paxos and available on Robinhood Chain. One of the main assets a vault is built to hold.
ERC-20
The common standard for tokens on Ethereum-style chains, including Robinhood Chain. Stock Tokens and USDG are ERC-20 tokens, and a vault can hold any token that follows the standard.
Robinhood Chain
The network Hillfort is built on, chain ID 4663. Hillfort is not affiliated with Robinhood Markets, Inc.
EIP-712 signature
A standard for signing structured, human-readable messages with a wallet. The preview uses EIP-712 signatures for every action, so you can see exactly what you are agreeing to. A signature is not a transaction: it costs nothing and moves nothing.
The site
Preview mode
The current state of the app: signatures only, state in your browser, time you can fast-forward, nothing on-chain and nothing protected. The site switches to on-chain mode when the vault factory address is configured. See Preview vs mainnet.
$HILT
The Hillfort token. Not launched. Its roles: a fee waiver for stakers and a share of fees for stakers. Its address will only ever be posted on @Hillfortrh. See $HILT.
Fee
The one charge in the protocol: 0.10% of a withdrawal, taken only when the withdrawal executes, waived for $HILT stakers. Cancel and rescue are free. See Fees.
